Yes, coffee filters; they work well for many things. Try lining a dish to soak unwanted grease or absorbing water from fish. I even use them for cleaning my grill or wiping up a small mess.
You probably pay more than $1 per 60 ct. roll of 1-ply paper towels. A 100-250 ct. package of coffee filters is $1 at a dollar store or 2 for $1 if you're in the right store at the right time. Compare pricing and try it.
